“Sound Sculpture lab Retrospektiv” visar upp en femårig produktion dedikerad till skapandet av interaktiva ljudverk, utvecklade i projektet Sound Sculpture labs ateljé och ljudstudio på Stenkrossen i Lund. Utställningen erbjuder besökarna en unik möjlighet att fritt interagera och skapa ljudlandskap med en mängd olika verk, och prototyper till sådana, inklusive uppleva verk som aldrig tidigare visats offentligt. Sound Sculpture lab drivs av konstnären Jon Nicklas Lundberg.
Projektet Sound Sculpture lab, med undertiteln “Interaktiv ljudkonst för det offentliga rummet”, har utvecklat serier av verk som alla följer ett visst tematiskt och tekniskt upplägg, ofta där kinetiska konstruktioner möter elektroniska experimentella ljudbilder. Jon Nicklas Lundberg har i projektet löst bundit upp skapandet av ljudverk kring de klassiska elementen jord, luft, eld och vatten, där han med obstinata och dogmatiska experimentella metoder sökt efter användbara glitches, fel med potential; ett letande i bruset för att hitta något att omvärdera. En iterativ process, ett iterativt sökande, där det ursprungliga målet spelar mindre roll än resultatet eller vad som kan upptäckas på vägen.

Jon Nicklas Lundberg (SE) är en multidisciplinär konstnär baserad i Malmö, Sverige. Hans praktik kretsar kring ljud, men experimentellt förgrenar han sig till andra medier där han utforskar deras potential för uttryck genom sonisk sammanflätning. Han är intresserad av deltagande transformativa processer där definitioner måste omvärderas, och därigenom sätta fokus på akuta sociala och politiska frågor. Jon Nicklas Lundberg har ställt ut och framfört sin konst nationellt och internationellt.

“Sound Sculpture lab Retrospektiv” showcases a five-year production dedicated to the creation of interactive sound works, developed in the project Sound Sculpture lab’s studio at Stenkrossen in Lund. The exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to freely interact and create soundscapes with a variety of works, and prototypes thereof, including experiencing works that have never before been shown publicly. Sound Sculpture lab is run by the artist Jon Nicklas Lundberg.
The project Sound Sculpture lab, with the subtitle “Interactive sound art for the public space”, has developed series of works that all follow a certain thematic and technical layout, often where kinetic constructions meet electronic experimental soundscapes. In the project, Jon Nicklas Lundberg has loosely tied up the creation of sound works around the classical elements earth, air, fire and water, where he searched with obstinate and dogmatic experimental methods for useful glitches, errors with potential; a search in the noise to find something to reevaluate. An iterative process, an iterative search, where the original goal matters less than the result or what can be discovered along the way.

Jon Nicklas Lundberg (SE) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Malmö, Sweden. His practice revolves around sound, but experimentally he branches out into other media where he explores their potential for expression through sonic interweaving. He is interested in participatory transformative processes where definitions have to be re-evaluated, thereby bringing into focus urgent social and political issues.
