1965 bestämde sig en grupp studenter i Lund för att bilda en ny ensemble – Cappella Lundensis. Deras dröm var att vid sidan om universitetsstudierna utforska den klassiska musiken på djupet i en mindre grupp där alla medlemmar tog stort ansvar och inspirerade varandra.
60 år senare lever Cappella Lundensis för fullt, och sedan 15 år är det Wieska Szymczynska, lärare vid musikhögskolan i Malmö och tidigare konsertmästare i Musica Vitae, som leder ensemblen. Utöver ett par egna produktioner varje termin spelar vi med körer på olika platser i Skåne och ibland också lite längre bort. Under vårt jubileumsår satsar vi bland annat på ett samarbete med en vokalensemble i Berlin.
Den 8 februari klockan 17 bjuder vi in till jubileumskonsert på Magle konserthus i Lund med musik av bland andra Nino Rota, Johann Sebastian Bach, Jacques Offenbach och Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
