In the village of Shen’ao with only 1500 inhabitants, time moves with the rhythm of footsteps on old stone – slow, deliberate, shaped by generations. In Chongqing, life rushes upward in steel and neon, carried by 30 million people who remake the city each day.
These photographs are documentary yet artfully rendered, tracing the quiet pulse of a village and the vast momentum of a megacity. And there is an art story behind my explorations.
Together they offer another way of seeing China: not as a single story, but as a landscape of diversity and contrasts—intimate, immense, traditional, restless, and endlessly beautiful.
To walk through this exhibition is to travel between two worlds and glimpse the diversity and transformation that shape China today.
As the one who created these photos as well as a peace and future researcher working in and with China, I look forward to welcoming you to ”Contrasts Of China.”
You can visit the exhibition until December 20, 2026, but by appointment only.
