Ta, ta, ta, taaaaaa! Fyra unisont klingande toner inleder Ludwig van Beethovens kanske allra mest berömda verk, den aggressiva, oroliga men också triumferande Symfoni nr. 5 där ödet, enligt många, kan höras knacka på dörren. En fartfylld resa från första satens stressade C-moll musik till den fjärde och sista satsens klimax i renaste C-dur (se även temat för serie Oerhört den 21 november). Som konstrast vid kvällens symfonikonsert med Akademiska kapellet: Richard Wagners eteriska inledning till operan Lohengrin där de inledande höga stråkarna gestaltar det transcendenta och översinnliga – den heliga Graalen.
