Efter succén med debutfilmen En kärlekshistoria drabbades Roy Andersson av en depression. Han började experimentera med en estetik som skulle utvecklas i decennier framåt, och fröet till detta finns att hitta i filmen Giliap (1975). Filmen sågades när den kom, men ses numera som en klassiker i den svenska filmhistorien.
Medverkande är bland andra Thommy Berggren och Mona Seilitz. Filmen är 136 minuter lång och har åldersgräns 15 år. Filmvisningen ingår i bibliotekets programserie Tema: Roy Andersson.
